Helping to promote a safe, healthy and environmentally friendly alternative form of transportation for the residents of Carol Stream.

Carol Stream Bikes exists to promote walking and bicycling in the village of Carol Stream for people of all ages and skills. We want to make it possible for children in grade school and middle school to walk or bike to school. We want to identify hazards within the village that road cyclists face when riding in traffic.

We want to make it possible for the casual adult rider to get on a bike and perform everyday tasks -- pick up groceries, attend Park District events, and even go to work -- without automatically assuming that a car is necessary to do any of these things. For those who do not have a car to drive within the village, we want to make sure these riders have the knowledge and infrastructure to arrive at their destinations safely.

To accomplish these goals, Carol Stream Bikes looks to the 5 E's of bicycle planning -- Engineering, education, encouragement, enforcement of existing laws and evaluation -- to determine where we can do the most good for bicyclists, pedestrians and motorists alike. Being an advocate

In order to advocate for what people want, we need to know where they want to go! The links below contain original research into what the people of Carol Stream want.
